About Monika:
Monika is 9 years old. Monika has two sisters. Monika and
her sisters are orphans, and they are being cared for by their
grandmother. Her older sister Sonali, who is 13, is in class
VIII. Her younger sister Amruta, age 8, is in class IV, and is
also participating in this program.

Progress in school:
Monika has done well in school. She has now been
admitted to Shree Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan
Sansthan. She has also got admission into the
hostel there. Monika is in school and is taking some
time to settle into the hostel.

Issues addressed by UNFF:
UNFF met the warden of the hostel, Sunetra Bhandari. UNFF
also spoke to her about scholarships for Monika as she is a
bright student and her grandmother cannot afford to pay the
entire fees for the school and hostel.
